Tiger muskie

The tiger muskie is unique to the USA and Canada and not available to fish for in Europe. The hybrid species (muskie x pike) is soo besutiful that it got on my bucket-list. I undertook three attempts to chase tiger muskie on the fly. It all started in 2023 on Pineview reservoir. Only a day and a half of fly fishing after the fly fishing confluence show in SLC that resulted in one tiger muskie following the streamer to shore. No take but the tiger kept swimming around in my head. I returned to Utah mid May 2025. That turned out to be too early. Dropping temps and even a day with snowstorms put the tigers down. 6 fishing days resulted in seeying some tigers and some that looked at the streamer but no bite. So I returned end of June 2025. Attempt three was an eleven day adventure that resulted in the catch of two tiger muskies on the fly. So the species is now checked off on the bucket-list but something tells me I will be back!
