Peter's Pike Hook

Over the years many pike hooks have been designed and produced. I've used most of them over the last 39 years that I have been chasing pike on the fly. There are a lot of good hooks out there but I never found the perfect hook I had in mind. Designing and producing my own pike hook has therfore been on my wish list for a long time. The years of networking in the industry has opened up some doors and in 2025 I finally found a top quality hook manufacturer willing to work with me on my pike hook.

The hook was designed to be balanced, strong, sharp, penetrate quick and easy and keep pike on even when jumping. It was also important to make a hook for all pike fly fishing conditions. This pike hook you can use in polders, on the big rivers and lakes end even in brackish waters. They are not 100% rust free but, when you rinse them in freshwater after a day's fishing in brackish water, the black nickel finish will stand up to conditions found in places like Rügen before they get destroyed by pike. Last but not least the hook was designed to make a quick release possible and that is exactly what the micro barb allows you to do; hang on to the pike but easy to unhook!

I'm very pleased with the end result. It's a bit of a dream come true. I'm convinced this new pike hook will help many pike hunters hook and land more pike. This new hook has different aspects of 'pike fly hook evolution' in it and I composed those into what I think is the prefect pike hook. So when thinking of a name for the hook I ended up with 'Peter's Pike Hook'.
